Thank you for visiting my website.  As of May 28, 2010, I will no longer be taking new doula or lactation consultation clients.  Starting in June,  I will be attending Pacific Lutheran University's Master of Nursing program, with the goal of becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner.  Once these (and more!) services become available again, I will revise this site.

If you are in need of lactation consultation, you may want to contact the lactation prorgams at Providence St. Peter Hospital or Capital Medical Center in Olympia, or the lactation programs at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.  If you are in the military, there are lactation services available at Madigan Army Medical Center. I provide individual lactation consultations for families with a child of any age, whether they are having difficulties, or simply want support and education concerning breastfeeding. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I offer home and office visits to help women and babies with a host of issues concerning breastfeeding. These issues may include:

• Difficulties with latch, positioning
• Sore or injured nipples
• Engorgement
• Baby who is fussy or sleepy at the breast
• Excessive weight loss or inadequate weight gain
• Concern about milk supply
• Multiples
• Illness, prematurity, or baby's development that interfere with breastfeeding
• Bringing baby to breastfeeding after finger feeding, bottle feeding, nipple shields, formula, or other supplementation or feeding methods
• Other breastfeeding questions and concerns

Many women self-refer for lactation consultations. Others are referred by their midwife, physician, pediatrician,or other health care practitioner.

Visits can often be scheduled within 24-48 hours.
